This is the first "real" vacuum sweeper I have owned (previously had a cheap dirt devil power stick for my dorm room). I am very pleased with this purchase and what makes it even better was I got mine at Target on sale for around $200! I love that it is very light weight and the ball makes it easy to move around obstacles. It's amazing what it picks up off the floor, you never would have guessed the floor was so dirty! It is very simple to remove the container and dump it in the trash, no bags to worry about. Also, Dyson recommends cleaning the filters once a month, it's a bit of a pain to do but worth it. The handle is adjustable and you also remove it to sweep with the hose if you need to.
The only problem I had early on was the beater brush bar wasn't turning after a few uses (and the button that controls it wasn't activating it). Went to the Dyson website after registering my vacuum and found a step by step problem solving article that fixed the problem! Also my parents bought a Dyson (it looks the same as the Blueprint except it is gold and gray color). Theirs works just as great and they have had no problems with it!
This sweeper picks up cat hair very well too!
The only thing I noticed on both Dyson vacuums was after you sweep and dump out the container, sometimes the grates(not sure what to call it) are clogged with dust/hair and we have to take a toothbrush to knock it free. It seems to vacuum better once it is cleared out.
